Wouldn't it be great to have 100-120 people on the street at every event? Can you imagine the sound (and lunacy!) that we could unleash? Wouldn't that band look spectacular on TV? Well, we think so too - but it'll only happen if we do a little recruiting work. Talk up GAL with your friends, your co-workers (or cow-orkers, as Dilbert would put it), clerks in stores, new folks at parties. It's amazing how many former bandies are out there; let's land 'em for GAL! Here's the 2007 challenge: Let's each bring one new member into the group this year. If that happens, then whoosh! It's that marching monster we want.
Hey, wanna help grow the band? Print off copies of the GAL recruiting poster for your friends, neighbors, buddies at work, store clerks, bulletin boards -- any place that might have potential band members! One great idea is to post a copy on the bulletin boards at your favorite music stores (where better to find musicians!!!). Here are two versions:
Here's another way to build the band -- keep a stash of GAL business cards available and hand 'em out when you find likely prospects. This file is in Microsoft Word format and prints 10 business cards in standard format. (If you're feeling flush, go buy some of the Avery "print your own business card" material, print them, peel 'em off, and you have gorgeous biz cards. Download the business cards here (right click on the link, choose Save Target As to save the file to your system, then open and print.).
