Founded in 1994 by Bob
Pulido and John Lind, Get A Life is an all-adult
band whose members have three things in common:
We were all in high school
or college marching bands.
We still haven't gotten
over it.
We'd rather miss a note
than a meal!
The band performs regularly in parades and other
events throughout the region; see the Performances
page for a full schedule. We've also traveled widely; see our Awards
page for a list of publications and major parades that have received
that special GAL touch.

The Get a Life Marching Band is back from Anaheim after opening
the 2010 NAMM Show in front of
88,000 visitors and the cream of the business! Read about our engagement
with the music industry's biggest trade show in our press
release.
We opened NAMM 2010 by marching through the halls of the
Anaheim Convention Center as part of the Fernand L. Petiot Marching
Band, with Grand Marshall Quincy
Jones (and named for the inventor of the Bloody Mary). Later
that afternoon we hit the NAMM Outdoor Stage with one of GAL's high-energy
brassy shows, and two days later finished off the trip with a parade
up Main Street at Disneyland.
Bob Popyk saluted the band in his NAMM roundup for Music Trades
magazine, concluding "Their enthusiasm was contagious."

more about our "good-looking grandmas in spangles"!
Scott Robertson, Marketing & Communications Director for
NAMM, sent this after our performance: "Thanks so much
for coming down and marching our opening parade and performing during
the show. Your band's energy is contagious. Check out the 2010
NAMM Wrap Up Video to see more of your band in action."
